Enrolment Process

Thank you for your interest in Northwest Montessori Preschool

ENROLMENT PROCESS

1. Attend a Tour
We recommend that you set up a time to meet with us. We’ll walk you through the classroom and introduce you to the Montessori approach to education. Montessori is one of those things that just needs to be seen to be appreciated.

2. Apply to be added to the Waiting List
If you decide that Northwest Montessori Preschool is the right fit for your family, we welcome you to submit an application to be added to the Waitlist. We encourage you to apply as early as possible to avoid disappointment. Applications may be lodged from the birth of a child . Children must turn 3 years of age by 30th April in the commencement year.
You will need the following to complete the application online;
– Read the policy documents under Terms & Conditions.
– Complete the online ‘Waiting List Registration’ form.

-Pay a non refundable  $120.00 Registration Fee.
As soon as we receive your completed application We’ll review it, and get back to you with a confirmation of receipt or call to clarify any questions we have.

3. Wait for an offer to be made
Offers of place are sent out in Term 3 for the following year’s intake.
Applicants who are successful will be notified in writing of a confirmed place. Sometimes circumstances change and families don’t accept the offer, the place is made available to the next eligible person on the waitlist. Second-round offers will be made 3 weeks after first-round offers. Third-round offers will be made 3 weeks after second-round offers.

4. Accept Offer
A bond of $1500 must be paid on acceptance of the enrolment by cheque or direct transfer to hold the place for the following year. This deposit will be returned to the family once the child has completed the two/three year program.
An enrolment pack and other relevant information will be provided after the place is accepted and the bond has been paid.

5. Meet the Directress
The next step is to arrange a time for your child to come in and meet with their new teacher. This is a great way for your child to get familiar with their new environment.

6. Orientation
Some children adjust very quickly to their new routine & others take a little longer. The Directress will come up with an orientation plan that best suits your child.

Being Assessed for Child Care Assistance
Northwest Montessori Preschool is approved for fee subsidies such as CCB, CCR and JET.
If you & your child have previously received rebates through approved child care simply provide us with the parent and child CRN & date of birth with your enquiry we can determine the rebate amount you are eligible for.
If you haven’t previously received the rebate or dont have a Parent & Child CRN, you may be eligible for the Child Care Benefit (CCB) and/or Child Care Rebate (CCR).  Simply contact Centrelink to find out if you are eligible for assistance, unfortunately we can not assist you with the actual assessment process.

CCB:    You may be eligible for the Child Care Benefit, which you can choose to receive as an annual lump sum payment or as reduced child care fees throughout the year. This is provided to families earning less than $156,914 with 1 child in approved care, $162,633 with 2 children in approved care, or $183,655 plus $34,724 for each child after the third. Learn more about the eligibility requirements here.

CCR:  Is NOT income tested and pays 50% of your child care fees. You may meet the work, training, study test for CCR if you and your partner participate in;
  • paid work or self-employment
  • setting up a business
  • training or studying
  • looking for work
  • voluntary work to improve your work skills.
Please be aware that having a Customer Reference Number (CRN) for yourself and your child does not mean you are in the system for childcare assistance, you must notify Centrelink that your child is going to be enrolled in care, and that you wished to be assessed.

Visit www.humanservices.gov.au and log in to your myGov account and start an online assessment.
Assessments can take between 28 – 35 days to be processed, and during that time you will be required to pay full fees. Once your assessment has been processed, and you are eligible, your payments will backdate to the date that Centrelink has approved.
Once assessed you will receive an assessment letter which will confirm two CRN’s, one CRN for a parent and one for your child. We require both of these numbers to formalise your child’s enrolment.

The New Child Care Package Overview

Northwest Montessori Preschool has no control over your payments, so we ask that you check your weekly statements, and if you see a change you need to contact Centrelink to make enquiries.
